Jesus Garcia Munoz is an Spanish artist born in Mexico City, Mexico.


Educational Background:

1987 – 1993 B.a. in Art history  from the Instituto de Cultura Superior, Mexico city, of which he’s still an honorary member.

1994 – 1995 Philosophy diploma from Instituto de Cultura Superior, Mexico City.

1998 – 1999 Philosophy diploma from Universidad La Salle, Mexico City.

1999 – 2000 Philosophy diploma from Universidad Ibero Americana, Mexico City.

1990 – 1998 As a student and member of the workshop he carried out the set design and scenic painting of the cycles I to V of teacher Hugo Argüelles’ theatrical production.

2001 – 2004 As a free student, he attended the Engraving Workshop: “Taller de Grabado de la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas”, Plantel San Carlos, Managed by Ms. Quintanilla.

2001 – 2005 Participates in the organization and teaching of specialized metal-engraving workshops at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas San Carlos, UNAM, Mexico City.

2003 – 2006 Worked as engraving workshop assistant at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico with teacher Gerardo Padilla.

Collectives and participations:

Participated as speaker in the “Encuentro Internacional de Teatro Infantil y Juvenil”, on theatrical scenery, scenic painting, and theatrical lighting with children with special problems. “Telón Abierto”, organized by the state government and by Larry Silverman in Aguascalientes, Mexico. 

Currently a member of teacher Pavel Albert’s engraving workshop in Madrid, Spain.

Currently metal-engraving teacher, Taller Negro 85, Madrid, Spain.

Currently a member of the engraving artistic collective “Negro 85”, Madrid, Spain.

Currently a member of the Engravers and Plastics Research Mexican Association (Asociación Mexicana de Grabadores de Investigación Plástica), Mexico City.

Currently a collaborator of the College Of Arts and Humanities. The University of Texas-Pan American, USA.
